Flood and water damage rebuild for Westchester homes. When a flood, burst pipe or leak has been dealt with, a water mitigation company extracts the water, removes wet material and dries the structure. Then comes the part that makes the house feel like a home again: the rebuild. That is what we do. New drywall, taping and finishing, texture, primer, paint and trim, so your walls and ceilings look like the damage never happened.
How we fit in: we handle the rebuild only. We start after a mitigation company has removed the water and dried the structure.
What we rebuild after water damage
What we do not do
To keep expectations clear: we do not perform water extraction, structural drying or mold remediation. If your home is still wet, call a water mitigation company first. If mold is found, it should be handled by a mold remediation professional and cleared before the walls are closed up. When that work is finished, call us and we will measure, quote and rebuild.
How the rebuild works
- Walk-through and free estimate. We look at the affected rooms, measure walls and ceilings, and talk through finishes and paint.
- Written scope and price. You get an itemized estimate by area so you know what is included.
- Hang the drywall. New sheets go in where the old material was removed.
- Tape, mud and sand. Compound goes on in several thin coats. Each coat has to dry before sanding, which is why this stage takes more than one day.
- Prime and paint. New drywall is primed so the paint finishes evenly, then painted to match the room.
- Trim and final walkthrough. Baseboards go back on and we check the finished work with you.
Winter water damage in Westchester
Cold weather brings its own water problems: pipes that freeze and split, ice dams that push meltwater under roofing and into ceilings, and storm runoff into basements. Whatever the cause, the order of work is the same: stop the water, dry the structure, then rebuild. Our frozen and burst pipe guide walks through what happens next.
Before we start: is your home ready for the rebuild?
- The mitigation company has finished and removed its drying equipment.
- The structure has been dried and the framing is not wet.
- The source of the water has been repaired.
- Any mold has been addressed by a specialist.
- Insulation, electrical or plumbing that needs work behind the walls has been completed, so the walls can be closed.
Not sure? Call us and describe what you have. We will tell you whether it is time to schedule a rebuild estimate. Our guide to water mitigation vs. rebuild explains who does what.

Frequently asked questions
Do you do water extraction or drying?
No. We handle the rebuild only. We start after a water mitigation company has removed the water and dried the structure.
What does your flood rebuild include?
Drywall hanging and replacement for walls and ceilings, taping and finishing, sanding, texture matching, primer and paint, and baseboards and trim.
When can the rebuild start?
Once the mitigation company confirms the structure is dry and the source of the water has been repaired. Building over damp framing can lead to mold and failed finishes, so we wait for that sign-off.
Do you remove mold?
No. Mold remediation is not part of our service. If mold is present, it should be handled by a mold remediation professional and cleared before the walls are closed.
How long does the rebuild take?
It depends on how many rooms are affected. Joint compound needs time to dry between coats, so even a single room takes several days from drywall to paint. We give you a schedule with your written estimate.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Estimates are free. Call 914-643-3263 or request one online.
